Donna Jean Cooper was born March 29, 1944, in Marysville, Kansas, the first born child to Clarence and Beulah (Bartly) Miller, and passed away Wednesday, November 30, 2011, at her home in Milford at the age of 67 years 8 months and 1 day.
Donna attended school in Colorado and graduated from Fort Morgan High School with the class of 1962. Donna worked at Mills Grocery Store in Milford and later on June 6, 1965, she was united in marriage to Gary W. Cooper in Milford, Nebraska and to this union a son, Gary, Jr. and a daughter, Laura J. were born. Donna helped on the family farm after her marriage and later sold Avon products, worked at Samuelsons Pharmacy Store, and was a sales clerk at ARAMARK and later Casey’s Convenience Store. Donna was a member of the Milford United Methodist Church, O’Town Extension Club, MADD, Mothers Against Drunk Driving and Race Against Drugs Organization. She enjoyed scrapbooking, embroidery, collected Beannies and American Girl Dolls and loved to go shopping with her family, especially for and with her grandchildren. Donna was excellent at organizing as was good at home decorating, especially with staging seasonal items and furniture. She loved to make candy, especially making chocolate nut cups and was very family-oriented. Her family was very important to her and had a deep-rooted Christian faith.
Survivors include her husband, Gary Cooper, Sr, of Milford; son and daughter-in-law, Gary Cooper Jr, and Brenda, Edina, MN; daughter, Laura J. Cooper, and partner, Stephanie Hall, both of Dallas, TX; three grandchildren, Andrea Cooper and Gary Cooper, III, both of Edina, MN, Warren Hall-Cooper, Dallas, TX; sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda Mundhenke, Lincoln, Georgia and Terry Brunson, Jackson Center, OH, Erla and Don Heyen, Lincoln, Veda and Bud Armstrong, also of Lincoln; nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and a host of other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Beulah Miller and her step-father, Tom Ellis, whom she considered to be her father for many years.
Services are 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 5, 2011, at Milford United Methodist Church, with Rev. Michael Curd officiating. Burial prior to service at Blue Mound Cemetery, Milford. No Visitation. Memorials have been established to Aseracare Hospice. Lauber-Moore Funeral Home, Milford is entrusted with the care and arrangements.
