Krause at the home of her sister in Rosemead, California and to this union on his 30th birthday, his only son, Merle, arrived.   Doyle, as he was affectionately known by family and friends enlisted in the US Army, serving overseas in Germany.  Upon his discharge he returned to California where he was employed at Union Pacific Railroad as a crane operator and truck driver until he retired in 1990.  Doyle and Joan then moved back to the Cordova area to be near family.

In his retirement he enjoyed hunting and fishing, being outside – working in his garden, mowing and spending time with friends at the Legion Club in Friend.  Doyle was a member of the L. Petersen #359 Cordova American Legion Club.  He also enjoyed serving with the color guard at many funerals and other events.   In California, he was a member of the Rosemead Masonic Lodge F&AM and a member of the Teamsters Union.

Doyle had a great sense of humor, enjoyed teasing family and friends and was a very caring father and grandfather.

Doyle is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Merle and Cassie Robinson, Cordova, granddaughter and spouse, Stephanie and Matt Ossowski, Omaha, and Joan’s son, Steve and Deb Forney, Jacksonville, North Carolina, brother, Roy Robinson, Medford, Oregon, nieces, Faye and Dean Trent, Trenton, Texas, and Sandra Robinson, and a host of other relatives and friends.
